Majors in Luxury Marketing & Minors in Entrepreneurship
There is a need for an undergraduate course in luxury branding & retail management in India.
From Armani to Versace and Ralph Lauren, luxury brands accounted for over $350 billion in 2024 alone, according to Forbes, – and that’s not even including the luxury auto market. With surging demand from the emerging middle-class population in countries like India and China, the total luxury market will reach $ 1.65 trillion. Even after the global Covid pandemic, the appetite for luxury products remains large, on the contrary, it is growing at a very fast pace, with many adopting a YOLO (You Only Live Once) mindset towards life.
Although few schools offer specialized MBA programs in luxury management, others offer more general programs in related fields like fashion or retail.
This maiden program of Bachelor’s in Luxury Brand & Retail Management covers a variety of topics, from marketing to customer relationships, HR to digital media and even finance. The course will be conducted by Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, situated in the south of Mumbai, India’s richest geography. The college will offer this four year undergraduate degree course under the domain of India’s first state cluster University, Dr. Homi Bhabha State University.
